Due to the success of their commercial glass business, Danielson Glass had outgrown the building they were operating out of and the property did not provide room to expand the business. As a result, the owners purchased an undeveloped parcel of land on the Route 6 to construct a new building and relocate their business. Killingly Engineering provided survey, engineering and permitting for their new 10,000 square foot building. The site was challenging due to its proximity to a sensitive wetlands system and it required significant site work to create a level surface for the building footprint and tractor trailer truck access. The final design provided innovative stormwater collection and treatment and infiltration that was incorporated into the landscaping plan to protect the wetlands system.
